Green tripe may look and smell awful, but it is one of the most nutritious raw foods you can give your dog. It is classified as a muscle meat and you should try and ensure it constitutes around 20% of your dog’s diet. Tripe comes from the stomach of plant-eating animals such as cows, deer, sheep etc. This particular tripe is from sheep. Green tripe is unwashed and so still contains much of the nutritious content from the fermented plant matter including probiotics with anti-inflammatory properties, enzymes to aid digestion, amino acids to help muscles and gastric juices which help clean teeth. If feeding bones, always combine with Green Tripe. Additionally, it is a great source of fibre, plus contains minerals such as iron, zinc, potassium and selenium. Tripe is also a “white” meat and is good for dogs with sensitive digestive tracts or food allergies.
